Program and Presenter Information

Detailed information about the program is available by viewing the program and abstracts. Authors are encouraged to view the author index for abstracts that have been accepted for presentation and where they have been scheduled. Authors should also review their names in these products and, if updates are needed, email them to [email protected].

We encourage all presenters to make their presentations as accessible as possible. This includes considering the international and discipline breadth of the audience and the possibility that some attendees may experience color blindness. Reference the resources below when creating presentations.

If presenters do not want photos of their presentations to be taken, they should state so verbally at the start of their oral presentations. For both oral and poster presentations, this graphic should be displayed on the slide(s) that should not be photographed.


Oral Presentations

To facilitate a smooth transition between speakers, all oral presentations will be collected ahead of time and shared from the room at the venue.

Submission deadline: July 17, 2024, 11:59 p.m. PDT

Session Room Hardware and Software

  • Mac laptop, LCD projector
  • Mac Windows hardware and software only
  • Note: PC hardware and software will not be used in the session room.


Presentation Software

  • PowerPoint or PDF
  • PowerPoint slide size: widescreen (16:9)


Presentation Submission

  • Accepted presentation file format: PowerPoint or PDF
  • File Name Format: PresentationTime_PresentationRoom_Hardware_LastName
    • Presentation time should use a 24-hour format (e.g., 0830, 1300, or 1415).
    • Presentation rooms should be "Beckman" or "Ramo" according to your assigned session.
    • If submitting an updated file, add the version number to the end of the file name (PresentationTime_PresentationRoom_Hardware_LastName_v#).
    • If submitting any source video and audio files with presentations, use these file name formats: PresentationTime_PresentationRoom_Hardware_LastName_video; PresentationTime_PresentationRoom_Hardware_LastName_audio.

    • If your upload is successful, a Success! pop-up will appear on your screen. You will not receive a confirmation email.
    • The upload link to Box is the only acceptable method of presentation submission. No presentations will be accepted via email or memory devices (e.g., USB drives).

Oral Presentation Timeline

Presentation duration: 12 minutes
Timing alert/warning: at the 10-minute mark
Signal to end and move to Q&A: at the 12-minute mark
Q&A duration: 3 minutes

In-Person Oral Presenter Guidelines

  • In-person presenters will not use their own laptops to display slides.
  • In-person presenters will advance their presentation slides using the podium computer provided in the oral session room.
  • In-person presenters are required to use the podium microphone.


Poster Presentations

Poster Setup Posters can be hung at any time before the poster session.
Poster Removal Upon conclusion of the conference. Posters left behind will be discarded.

Poster Printing Service

There is no specific poster printing service for this conference. Attendees can find numerous print services near Caltech and the hotels. The printing vendor closest to the conference venue is FedEx Print and Shipping Center, 855 East Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91101.
