Format
The meeting consists of oral and poster sessions to discuss progress on NASA-funded geologic mapping projects. Community discussion sections are included to identify and mitigate problems that the community of planetary mappers are facing, including the preparation of Findings for MAPSIT and NASA Headquarters Program Officers. Status reports are usually given by the USGS Planetary Geologic Mapping Coordinator and the NASA HQ Program Officer overseeing mapping, on the status of the mapping program. A GIS day is included on Friday, where mappers can discuss issues with ArcGIS software with USGS specialists. A social event is scheduled for Wednesday evening.
