Quantitative Elemental Mapping of CM Chondrites Using LA-ICP-TOF-MS: An Advanced Screeening Tool for Extraterrestrial Materials [#6274]
We apply LA-ICP-TOF-MS mapping to CM chondrites aiming to determine (1) the elemental abundances in the constituent minerals, (2) the phase(s) most enriched in particular elements, and (3) the elemental distribution among the constituent minerals.

Multi-Technique Characterization of Sulfur-Bearing Serpentine in Carbonaceous Chondrites [#6302]
Electron microscope and X-ray synchrotron studies of sulfur-bearing serpentine in CM and CI-type carbonaceous chondrite samples to better understand formation of serpentine in regard to the sulfur cycle and redox conditions in the early solar system.

Spectral Investigation of the Northwest Africa 12184 (CM2) Meteorite [#6127]
The mineralogy of the NWA 12184 meteorite and the products of terrestrial weathering, aqueous and thermal alteration were detected with reflectance and Raman spectroscopy. The spectral changes induced by laboratory ion irradiation were also examined.

Alteration History of Reckling Peak 17085, an Antarctic CM2 Chondrite with Alteration Fronts [#6163]
RKP 17085 is an Antarctic CM2 carbonaceous chondrite with alteration fronts. We reconstruct its complex alteration history, characterized by the overlapping of parent body aqueous and thermal alteration and terrestrial weathering.

Lithium Isotopes in Aqueously Altered Chondrites — Open System or Closed? [#6398]
Lithium isotopes have emerged as a powerful tool for constraining the degree of weathering on Earth. Here we present Li isotope data of aqueously altered chondrites to see if similar signatures can be observed on primitive asteroids.
Han J. Zolensky M.* Le L. Buchanan P.
Accretionary Rim on a CAI in the Northwest Africa 10758 CV3 Chondrite Reveals Probable Preaccretionary Aqueous Alteration and Thermal Metamorphism [#6380]
We present a mineralogical study of the CAI accretionary rim and the surrounding matrix of the host chondrite to investigate whether they share a record of same aqueous alteration and thermal metamorphism processes.

Terrestrial Alterations of Ordinary Chondrites from Antarctica [#6026]
We examined ordinary chondrites from Antarctica with focus on mineralogical and isotopic signature of sulfate minerals. We found convectional O2 mediated aqueous oxidations may not be the predominant formation pathway.

Minimal Volume Analysis of Meteoritic Soluble Organic Matter Via Dielectric Barrier Discharge Ionization Coupled with Fourier-Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry [#6278]
Small sample volumes are created with a drop-on-demand system. These droplets are then vaporized and successively analyzed with dielectric barrier discharge ionization and FT-ICR MS.

Tracing the Thermal History of Dark Clasts in Hosts from the Terrestrial Planet Region [#6157]
Dark clasts are xenolithic organic-rich inclusions of dark coloration. To understand the thermal history of their organic content, we set up a Raman spectroscopy method, that allow us to quantify their degree of thermal metamorphism.
Flandinet L.* Bonal L. Vacher L. Poch O. Quirico E. et al.
Extraction of Insoluble Organic Matter: Effects of Different Protocols on the Chemical and Isotopic Compositions [#6164]
Chemical extractions used to obtain IOM induce some chemical modifications. The effects of different protocols on organic matter were studied by FTIR spectroscopy and IRMS analyses. Strategies to avoid modifications of the IOM will be presented.
Liss M. A.* Schmitt-Kopplin Ph. Ruchti S.
Impact of Thermal and Aqueous Alteration on the Soluble Organic Matter of Carbonaceous Chondrites Using Ultrahigh-Resolution Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry [#6447]
This study shows the impact of thermal and aqueous alteration on the soluble organic matter of the carbonaceous chondrites Murchison and Sutter’s Mill using FTICR-MS coupled to different ionization methods (ESI-, ESI+, APPI+).
Das S. P.* Panda D. K. Chowdhury P. Patzek M. Thangjam G. et al.
Thermal History of CI- and CM-Like Clasts in HEDs: Insights from Raman Spectroscopy [#6295]
We are working on Raman study of volatile clasts in meteorite breccias. We discuss challenges estimating peak temperature due to laser-organics interaction and suitability of different thermometry approaches.
