Field Trip Indication of Interest

Indication of Interest to the Post-Conference Field Trip

The post-conference field trip will be four nights and five days (January 18-22, 2020) and requires a flight to the city of El Calafate from Ushuaia on Saturday, January 18. A full-day, 10-mile (16-km) out-and-back hike is planned for one of the days, but shorter options may be available around the area. This trip is not included as part of the conference fee. The estimated post-conference field trip fee is US$1,200 and includes four nights' accommodation in three-star hotels, box lunches, dinners, bus transportation from El Calafate to El Chaltén, entrance into Los Glaciares National Park, and a short guided hike on the ice of the Perito Moreno glacier. The fee does not include airfare to El Calafate, which adds approximately US$200, and must be purchased early enough to guarantee a seat.

Important:  The post-conference field trip will be limited to 40 participants. As such, potential participants are asked to submit an indication of interest by filling out this survey to receive additional information pertaining to the trip.

In order to secure spots on the field trip, participants are required to pay 30% of the field trip fee by Friday, September 20, 2019. More information will be provided to those that indicate interest. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning that the first 40 people to pay the 30% field trip fee will be guaranteed a spot.
