Travel Awards

Full and partial awards for travel support for students and early career scientists (students, postdoctoral researchers, newly-appointed associate faculty) are available, pending confirmation from NASA HQ. In order to secure support for travel expenses, you must submit an abstract on your research to the Habitable Worlds Workshop and answer in the affirmative to the appropriate question on the abstract submission form. You should then complete the Travel Awards web form available here. We anticipate that grants will be competitive as funds are limited. Responses from this form will be reviewed by the Science Organizing Committee (SOC) and awards will be allocated based on these reviews, distributed as resources allow. Priority will be given to individuals who are not currently supported by a NExSS team, those presenting or leading discussions, as well as attendees from underrepresented groups or from experts in underrepresented fields.

Deadline for application is Friday, September 1, 2017, 5:00 p.m. U.S. Central Daylight Time (GMT -5). You will be notified by e-mail by the end of September if you were selected for assistance.
