Science Areas
- Earth observation
- Heliophysics
- Astrophysics and fundamental physics
- Lunar and Planetary sciences
- Human physiology, space biology, and human health and performance
Topics
Several examples of possible discussion topics are provided below. Not all topics will be relevant to all the science areas, but many will be cross-disciplinary. We expect additional topics to be included based on the ideas we receive from the abstracts.
- Externally mounted instrumentation
- Instruments inside the pressurized modules
- Receiving and storing planetary samples
- Science enabled by telerobotics
- Use of the gateway as a communication hub for cubesats
- Science enabled by support/servicing of lunar landers and/or independent satellites
It is envisioned that working groups associated with the science areas will meet, in parallel, on the first two days of the workshop. These parallel sessions will contain brief overview talks but will also have a significant amount of time allocated for discussion. Summary reports from the working groups will be presented by the working group chairs in the plenary session on the last day of the workshop. A summary report will be delivered to NASA’s associate administrators for SMD and HEOMD following the workshop.
