The 53rd Lunar and Planetary Science Conference (LPSC) will be held as a hybrid conference on March 7–11, 2022. We are very excited about this long-awaited opportunity to gather again in person. Our highest priority for the conference remains the sharing of planetary science knowledge and information in a safe environment for our participants. Based on recent events and extensive community input, we will require proof of full vaccination for all in-person conference attendees. COVID-19 Protocols

LPSC organizers are actively monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as well as guidance for large gatherings and travel. All participants are encouraged to remain informed about safety precautions for gatherings and travel as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). All in-person attendees must provide proof of full vaccination to attend LPSC. About LPSC

Since its beginning in 1970, when it was called the Apollo 11 Lunar Science Conference, the conference has been a significant focal point for lunar and planetary science research. Over the years, it has grown tremendously, with over 2,000 planetary scientists and students who present their findings that provide new insights and a better understanding of the solar system.

LPSC features oral and poster presentations organized by topical symposia and problem-oriented sessions based on abstracts. Over 2,000 abstracts are submitted from a global scientific community. These abstracts are peer-reviewed, and selections for presentation are based on the overall relevance to the conference and the quality of the science. Special sessions and other events are scheduled throughout the week of the conference.
