Final Announcement — August 2013

Meeting Location and Date

The 2013 Annual Meeting of the Lunar Exploration Analysis Group will be held October 14–16, 2013, at the John Hopkins University/Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, Maryland. The meeting will be held in Room E100, Building 200 on the South Campus.

For information about the laboratory, directions, and nearby hotels, please visit the APL Visitor’s Guide.

Purpose and Scope

Data from an array of international lunar missions have significantly changed our understanding of many lunar processes and revealed the complex nature of the lunar poles and the distribution of volatiles on the surface. While answering many questions, those data have raised many more. The focus of the 2013 LEAG Annual Meeting will be developing an understanding of the scientific questions, measurement techniques, and options for exploring the Moon with Discovery-class missions or with payloads flown on international or commercial missions.

Meeting Format

The two-and-a-half-day meeting will promote lunar community discourse through both invited and contributed oral presentations and poster presentations. As in previous years, the sessions will be a blend of science, exploration, resource utilization, and commercial activities. Contributed abstracts are highly encouraged and should be centered on recent scientific results, potential missions and technologies for lunar exploration, and concepts of lunar resource exploitation.

For more details, view the program and abstracts. Authors will not receive notification letters, so they should check the author index to see where their presentation has been scheduled.
