Travel Grants
NASA’s Mars Program Office (MPO) has announced that travel funding awards are available for up to three students who plan to present at the workshop. In addition, funds are available through NASA’s Solar System Workings (SSW) program for seven students. The SSW funds are available for research focused on any solar system body, while the MPO grants are focused on Mars and Mars analogs. Students who are U.S. citizens or legal residents are eligible for these programs. The student travel awards are competitive and will reimburse travel and registration expenses up to $800. Applications are due March 7, 2017 (same as the abstract deadline). NASA Headquarters will make the selections and students will be notified by April. For more information and the application see http://mepag.nasa.gov/student.cfm?expand=student. Questions about this program should be directed to Serina Diniega.
Limited funds are available to support travel for researchers who submit abstracts that focus on sub-aqueous dunes and the processes that form the dunes. The travel funds are provided by the NASA Solar System Workings Program through the U.S. Geological Survey. Applicants must be either citizens or residents of the United States. Those interested should send an email to Dr. Timothy N. Titus ([email protected]) that includes your permanent residence (within the U.S. or her territories), your Planetary Dunes Workshop abstract title and abstract number (e.g. 3008), and whether you have a Social Security Number (or U.S. Tax ID Number). Do NOT email the social security number as it will be requested later using a secure format.
