Meeting Mentor Program

AbSciCon is a great way for students interested in STEM to get a brief but immersive exposure to the aspect of scientific culture represented by a major conference. In the AbSciCon Meeting Mentor Program, we will pair conference attendees with a student from a local high school or community college (underserved, underrepresented in STEM) for a partial day during the conference. The student will do everything you do:  attend talks and poster sessions, meet other scientists, participate in hallway conversations at breaks, etc. Your service as a Meeting Mentor can inspire youth to continue pursuing STEM in their educational and career pathways; in some cases, this may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

If you are interested in being an AbSciCon Meeting Mentor, please send an e-mail to [email protected] with the subject line “AbSciCon Meeting Mentor.”

Note: All electronic submission forms are part of the Meeting Portal, which requires users to set up a personal profile to access our electronic forms (setting up a profile is quick and easy, requiring only a few minutes of your time).
